Medication Counts

Medication Counts shows you the number of prescriptions (scripts) that have been dispensed for a selected drug/s over time, allowing you to compare the proportion of scripts to the market and confirm your internal in market sales (IMS) data.

How can this report be used?

The Medication Counts report could be used to:

  • Understand the general trend of medication use in the market
  • Predict surges in medicine use by looking at seasonal trends
  • Compare script volume between your drug and a competitor/s drug
  • Understand your overall market share

Note: This report only includes information relating to script counts. Analysis on packs and quantities is currently not available in Prospection platform.

How is this report calculated?

The Medication Counts report counts the number of scripts per patient dispensed.

Note: The Medication Count report calculation is different to the Market Scripts report in our previous product, PharmDash, which counted the number of scripts prescribed for a patient.

What does this report show you?

You can identify the source and loss of patients (over time) for:

  • your drug
  • a competitor drug
  • a particular class of drug
  • a particular order of treatment
  • a particular demographic – sex, age, location
  • a particular diagnoses (if applicable)
