Market Performance compares the number of patients on treatment for a selected drug within two successive time periods. It provides a snapshot of annual performance, summarising patient movement across the market based on the following dynamics:
- initiations (naïve or re-initiation)
- switch in
- continuations
- switch out
- discontinuations (drop off and death).
How can this report be used?
- Track and/or confirm the total number of patients on treatment between two time periods (i.e at the start and end of the 12-month period)
- Understand the overall source and loss of patients (inflow versus outflow) across the market or a selected drug/treatment
- Provide high-level insight into what market dynamics are contributing to the inflow and outflow of patients (i.e. initiations, switch in, switch out and discontinuations)
- Identify what has been the source of patient growth or loss.
What does this report show you?
You can identify the number of patients on treatment and the source of gain and source of loss of patients who (for a specified time period):
- are on your drug
- are on a competitor drug
- are on a particular class of drug (subtotal)
- are on a particular line of treatment
- come from a particular demographic – sex, age, location
- have had a particular procedure or test
- have a particular diagnoses
How can you modify the chart?
The filters above the chart (report filters) allow you to explore the data by patient demographics, lines of therapy, prescriber specialty etc.
You can opt to show or hide the number of continuations within the chart (i.e. patients who have stayed on treatment within the time period).
