Using the Dashboard

0

The Dashboard provides a snapshot of key patient and market metrics for an indication at national and regional levels, centered around the performance of your selected drug of interest. It also compares them to a list of customer-nominated competitors that constitute the market of interest.

Note: When commencing your subscription, a customer specifies their drug of interest, as well as competitors of interest. To make changes to this at any point please contact Prospection Support.

What does the Dashboard show you?

The Dashboard displays the following metrics for a calendar month (see data month):

  • number of patients on treatment for the drug of interest
  • patient gains and losses (Patient Dynamics)
  • market share of the drug of interest compared to competitor drugs
  • number of patients on top performing competitor drugs
  • number of patients and market share by region

How does it work?

The Dashboard uses data from Patient on Treatment and Patient Dynamics reports.

Widget (metrics) Data comes from the following reports
Patients on Treatment* Patient Dynamics**
Patients on drug of interest Y
Patient dynamics   Y
Market share Y
Drug of interest + Top competitors Y
Map Y

* On treatment window: one-month
** Definition of drop-off: smallest value configured in the Patient Dynamics report

To analyze the data presented in the Dashboard, open the relevant report (Patients on Treatment or Patient Dynamics) by clicking the ‘open in a new window’ icon.

How are the Dashboard metrics calculated?

Data month

The month presented in the Dashboard is three months prior to the last date of available data shown in the Patients on Treatment and Patient Dynamics report. Using data from this period, provides the most complete and usable view of the current market. The data month is automatically updated monthly.

Patients on drug of interest

This is the number of patients on your nominated drug of interest for the data month. The trend % is the percentage growth or loss compared to the number of patients on treatment in the previous month.

Patient Dynamics

Patient dynamics reflects the number of patients gained and lost for the drug of interest since the previous month.

Total Gains = Initiations (naive and re-initiations) + Switched In
Total Losses = Switched Out + Dropped Off + Deceased

Market Share

The market share of the drug of interest and customer nominated competitor drugs of interest (labeled 'Others') are shown in the pie chart.

Market share of patients for drug of interest
= Patients on interested drug / Total patients in the market

Market share of patients for competitor drugs
= (Total patients in the market - Patients on interested drug) / Total patients in the market

The trend % is the percentage growth or loss compared to the market share in the previous month.

Drug of interest + Top Competitors

This is the number of patients on the drug of interest and top performing competitor drugs in the data month. The trend % is the percentage growth or loss compared to the number of patients on the drug of interest and top competitor drugs in the previous month.

Using the map

The map shows the patients and market share of the drug of interest for each region. For some regions and datasets, it can be narrowed further to sub-regions.

Viewing metrics for regions or sub-regions

You can view the metrics for regions or sub-regions by using the region/sub-region toggle in the top right corner of the Dashboard. The metrics across the map will update to reflect your selection.

Hovering over the bubbles, will show for that region:

  • % change of patients on treatment in that region compared to the previous month
  • Difference in market share compared to the previous month

When you click on a region all metrics will change across the Dashboard to reflect the region you have selected.

Note: This feature is only available in Japan, the sub-region switch is not available for Australia.

Zooming in/out

Zoom in and out of the map to view it in more or less detail. When the map is zoomed in, click and drag the mouse to see other parts of the map.
